What happens when you bring 15 incredible girls, a beautiful bush setting, a swimming pool, a mud foefie slide, and a week packed with adventure together? Pure magic!
From 28 September to 2 October 2026, Thaba Morula once again came alive with laughter, learning, new friendships, as we hosted another successful Life Skills and Leadership Development Camp for girls from various children’s homes.
This year’s programme struck the perfect balance between growth and fun. Participants explored valuable life and leadership skills, benefited from therapeutic support, and took part in exciting activities facilitated by our amazing Team as well as the excellent Thaba Morula Team. A special highlight was the addition of a female facilitator, who brought fresh energy, insight, and inspiration to the camp experience.
Hosting the camp during the September school holidays turned out to be a winning choice. With sunny weather and plenty of time outdoors, the girls made the most of every opportunity to connect with nature, build confidence, learn new skills, and create lasting memories. Highlights included splashing around in the swimming pool, enjoying a well-deserved movie night, sharing stories around a traditional South African braai, tackling outdoor adventures, and of course, sliding, slipping, and laughing their way down the legendary mud foefie slide.
As always, we wanted every participant to leave with something special. Each girl received a sleeping bag, a cozy fleece blanket for chilly evenings, a backpack filled with stationery and toiletries, and a gift voucher. To top it all off, every participant proudly received a Certificate of Attendance in recognition of their commitment, growth, and achievements throughout the week.
None of this would be possible without our incredible sponsors and donors. Your generosity helps us create life-changing experiences that offer hope, healing, encouragement, and opportunity. Thank you for helping us invest in the leaders of tomorrow, one adventure-filled camp at a time.
